What is Your Life Dream?

What do you dream about being, doing, and having in your life?  If there were no limitations and you could create the ultimate life, what would it look like?  Dream as big as you can!  As you engage your imagination, know that it doesn’t matter what your present circumstances are.  All that matters right now, in this moment, is what you truly desire from life.  Think about what inspires and motivates you – really gets you jazzed.  Have you ever spent countless hours engaged in an activity or in the thought of a blossoming idea with no regard to the passage of time?  These are the things I’m talking about; the things that light you up from the inside out.

If you happen to be in a place where you are unable to think of anything, that’s absolutely fine.  Don’t panic and think there must be something wrong with you.  There are those times in life when things get stagnant or we are caught up in our present situation and feel a little “stuck”.   Simply ask how you see yourself and your life.  Are you looking at what’s lacking or at what could be?

If you are currently focused on what’s missing, I would ask you to consider creating a joy list.  A joy list is useful in pinning down those things of importance and meaning to us, and it helps piece together what we need to do to live our dreams.  This list will include the tiny everyday joys like a stimulating conversation, the warmth of sunshine on your face, the smile of a stranger, a decadent cookie (yummm), finding money in your coat pocket (yes!), or hearing your favorite song on the radio.  It will also include the bigger joys, such as how you have felt or anticipate feeling after a major accomplishment, what it would mean to go on the trip of a lifetime, finding your life mate or hearing from a long lost friend.

Now close your eyes, and gaze into your future.  Take out your imaginary binoculars, and focus in on where you would like to be tomorrow, a year from now, five years from now, and so on.  Believe in the possibilities.  There are no limits to what you can create except those generated in your mind.  Use your imagination to stimulate the possibilities within, because all of life flows from the imagined.  Now magnify this vision until it is abundantly clear and feels very real, then write it down so you can stay focused on it.  Let the energy flow toward your desires, and allow yourself to get excited!  Following your passion makes it easy to make the necessary commitments that will create success in all areas of life.  Go for it!
